The circular economy requires new perspectives on business scenarios and systemic changes for their implementation. <\/p>\n

Our expert for transformation and strategic corporate development Dr. Johannes Klinglmayr shared his experiences with the circular economy in his presentation \u201cEnabling Circular Economy by breaking up system boundaries\u201d<\/b> at the World Organisation of Systems and Cybernetics 19th Congress 2024 <\/a> in Oxford last week.<\/p>\n

The EU\u2019s forthcoming ECODESIGN regulation will require, among other things, the repair, reuse and recycling of products. This will significantly shake up certain established business models. With the requirement of considering external processes, the need for companies to consider cross-companybusiness models increases.<\/p>\n

Companies will have to change their products and design processes and possibly rethink them from scratch. The products will then have to meet the requirements of a consortium of companies. This will be reflected in shared business models, services and product features. New product and service requirements will require cross-company product design. This is a paradigmatic shift away from the current company-internal designs and requires the development of new skills and processes within companies.<\/p>\n
